Since We're Talking About Cocks...

So one of my most favorite roosters was a rooster named "Regal."
I never could figure out what kind of bird he was, but I'm pretty sure he was just a meat bird breed! Eeep! Anyways, nonetheless, he had to be my near favorite, close to Turkey, Falcon and Hawk... oh and let's not forget Josh Osprey (can you see the birds of prey theme here?). My favorite barnyard flock bird was always the noble rooster!
I know, hens lay eggs, roosters crow until your ears bleed...
However, to me, they were so much more personable... they fought for their hens, they took care of their hens, they were just what you thought of when you thought of chickens!
I'm pretty sure I've dreamt about him before... don't ask me why I dreamt about a rooster, but I did! In my dreams, I think his name was "Regal" too, but who knows! Anyways, he was the best rooster I had for a short amount of time!
I don't know, I really did love his personality. Big, friendly, didn't crow, didn't cause too many fights - though he did have a ruckus with Turk who kicked his butt a few times. He followed me all around and let me carry him!

His story was that I traded a couple pullets for these two boys to a gal with six kids. I remember all six of her kids coming by to pick up baby chicks and in return, I traded them some chicks, because these were family pets that the kids just could not see going away as feed! "Regal" is the white rooster with the speckled feathers; his brother had colors around his crown like a Delaware, but not enough black on his tail to be considered one?I don't know - I just remember two kids bringing these big ol' boys up to me. You could tell they were well-loved, cared for and just overall considered pets to these kids. I agreed to take them, but with over 300+ birds to care for, these guys had to go. I brought "Regal" out with me along with his brother down to Wichita and sold him to a grandmother with kids. She was thrilled that "Regal" was so friendly! I was pretty sad, but glad they were going to a good home! Anyways, I just remember "Regal" following me all around the house before he was off to his new home. I hope him and his brother are having a grand time with their new flock of girlfriends!

I guess other than that, I wanted to say, roosters can find good homes - you've just gotta wait it out and work on it. I gave these boys up because I adored them! I knew I couldn't have 2342342 roosters at the farm and I knew they would have a better chance this way! So yup!
